Save More Money

In this age of austerity many of us are looking for ways to make extra cash each month. It is getting harder and harder to get through the months on wages that are rising to meet our living costs, so it is no surprise that we have turned to Ebay and taking part time jobs to make ends meet. The problem is that there are a lot of scam money making schemes out there that can put us in a worse financial position than we were in, in the first place. With this in mind, here are 5 of the best ways to make a little extra cash each month in safe ways and have fun doing it.

Good at games? Then why not make some cash at the same time.

The world of casinos has become ever more prevalent over the past few years due to the freedom that playing a good game gives you. The added bonus of playing casino games is the fact that you can make a little extra money at the same time, as long as you win. Like many forms of gaming, you are going to have losses too, so you need to make sure you only bet what you can afford, but if you have a little cash to use then this can be great fun and worth the while. Playing a casino game is all about an adrenaline rush that you see when someone hit the jackpot and this can be you also. So why not give it a try. You never know you could be the next big winner.

Sort through your current finances

This may not be all that fun to do but it could save you a lot of money in the long run. If you feel that your finances have gotten out of hand, then by reeling them in you could save yourself hundreds each month. Look at what you are paying off each month; this could be credit cards, loan payments and pre-existing debts. If you have any high interest rate payments you are making, then transferring the balances can save you much needed money on your payments each month.

This should also be able to show you how your money is being spent, making it much easier to see where you can save a little each month.

Get selling

We all have items that we don’t use, don’t like or don’t want anymore. A lot of us will simply throw these away when we have had enough of them, but an ever increasing amount of us are turning to selling our unwanted goods on sites such as Ebay. Which site you choose to use will be determined by what you are selling. For example, if you have a pile of unwanted books, than Amazon is perfect or old clothes could be sent to sites such as Clothes4Cash. Either way, this is a great way to make some extra money and spring clean at the same time!

Make sure though, that before you list any items, you know all the fees that come with it. Ebay will charge a certain amount for adding extra images or description and this will be invoiced at the end of the month.

Get paid for shopping

If you use your credit card for purchases during the month, such as food shopping, then you should consider switching the card to a cash back credit card. This will give you approximately 1% back for every purchase you make on the card, this can soon add up to the hundreds over the course of the year.

There are also many companies, like Play.com, that offer credit cards that give you points instead of cash back. These can then be saved over a year and used towards Christmas presents etc.

Use your skills

There are many part time jobs out there that are perfect for your skills. If you love children then have you considered babysitting? Or, are you an animal lover? Then why not walk dogs in the evenings? There are many people out there who need your skills, all the way from writing for blogs, through to tutoring students, by advertising your knowledge you could end up with a fairly lucrative secondary income doing something you enjoy.

There are many ways you can advertise your skills. Gumtree is a great starting point as they reach a wide audience, but if you only have a few hours to spare each week, then get advertising in your local stores, newspapers and of course on social networks.
