There are lots of moments in life when you need to be able to get hold of some money really quickly. Perhaps your bill is higher than you expected, you have to pay for a home repair or you’re stranded in an airport. Whatever the reason for needing the money, the only thing you know is that you need to get it as soon as possible. But you can’t just magic cash out of thin air. You need to think about your options and which method of bringing in a quick sum of money will work for you. If you need to make a fast buck, try one of these ways of raising the cash lickety-split.

Sell Something

You’ve probably already thought of this one, and perhaps you’ve dismissed it because you think you have nothing to sell. But maybe you should think again, and decide if there isn’t something that you can afford to part ways with. If you need to make money today or tomorrow, using a site like eBay probably isn’t going to be quick enough for you. You would be better off trading your things in at a physical shop, whether it’s a pawn shop or a secondhand store.

Take Out a Loan

People can be wary of payday loans, but they can be useful if you’re able to pay them off as soon as possible. If you decide to take out a loan with Ferratum in Australia or a similar company, it’s a good idea to know how and when you’re going to pay it back. Make sure you know when you’re expected to pay, and how much, and that you won’t end up having to take out more loans to keep paying the previous one back.

Ask Friends and Family

Many people live by the adage “never a borrower nor a lender be”, but others are a bit more generous. You might have friends or family who are willing to lend you, or even gift you, some money. If they or you are worried about not paying the money back, you can even draw up a contract. Alternatively, you could give them something as collateral or promise to do a favor for them in return for the money.

Return a Recent Purchase

If you’ve recently purchased something before finding out that you need the money for something else, hopefully, you still have the receipt. Assuming the item you bought is still in good condition, with any labels or packaging still intact, you should be able to return it. You do need to be careful, however, as some stores will give you credit to buy things in the shop, rather than pay you back in cash.

There are plenty of other ways you can get hold of some money quickly, and they’re all completely legitimate. If none of the above methods work for you, try offering to do some odd jobs in your neighborhood. You can even make money by selling organic tissue, from hair to sperm and blood.
